Pitchers:
Angels:
Scott Kazmir, 0-0 0.00 ERA
Yankees:
C.C. Sabathia, 1-0 1.13 ERA
Time:
4:30 PT on FOX
Sabathia on the hill again for the Yanks, but this time it'll be different. I got a feeling. Sabathia will NOT be pitching in Yankee Stadium and is coming off a short rest. Hopefully Kazmir makes up for that bad game in Boston and takes care of biz today. |

I'm in awe of CC. On three days rest? Human beings shouldn't be able to do that....just amazing.
Anyway, nothing to be ashamed of Angel fans....in my opinion, you guys probably have the second best team in MLB. But this Yankee team might be the best team this decade. I hope I didn't jinx anything, but this performance was just so good, it's hard to not be excited. It was like they knew they messed up in Game 3, and decided to play as hard as possible. The only thing that slightly worries me is how much they're relying on A-Rod and Sabathia. If either of those guys had been anything but amazing, this series is probably like 3-1 Angels. We need Tex to start swinging the bat better, and we need Posada to stop drinking before games....lol. But, overall, the Angels have a better starting staff than the Phillies or the Dodgers, so I'm feeling good.
As for the Angels, they need to let Abreu walk (he's probably kicking himself for not accepting that 2 year, 16 million dollar deal), and throw the bank at Matt Holliday. It just makes the most sense. They just don't have anyone in the lineup that's legitmately scary.
They should re-visit that trade for Halladay, and find a legit closer. |

^ Congrats on yet, ANOTHER WIN Jet.
Im still very fustrated and I hope that the Angels dont let them clinch on our field. I hate to be pessimistic, but down 3-1? I cant help but to be.
Anyway, I definitely think we wanna keep Abreu. He's done a lot of great things for the team and mentoring our young players. If Vlad doesnt make anything happen, and the series doesnt continue on to NY, I think Tony will let him walk. He's probably too expensive and offensively he isnt the same... we dont need Vlad anymore. I like that Holliday idea but when he was in the AL with the A's, he wasnt the same player he used to be till he was traded back to the NL so Im thinking twice.
I hate to say this but the Angels should look into Jason Bay. Clutch player, that can hit the long ball at any plate appearance. Thats exactly what this team needs.
Resign Lackey, Figgins, Abreu, and maybe Oliver. Let Vlad, Kelvim, and Quinlan walk. I would get greedy and sign Holliday and Bay. Its paying off for the Yankees. We've had the same lineup for a long time and I feel we should make some changes.
Anyway, here are my trading candids:
Ervin Santana (personally, I wouldnt trade him. I think next year will be his best season ever. I can feel it)
Brian Fuentes (Id trade him in a heartbeat)
Matt Palmer (I like Palmer, but his value is pretty good)
Gary Matthews Jr. (I liked what he did this season, but his salary is a problem)
Reggie Willits (A player who just had a good rookie season, and nothing else) |

Ah. I didn't remember that Vlad was a free agent too. Then, yeah, Vlad should definitely go instead of Abreu. And I do also think that Holliday's stint in the NL has definitely inflated his numbers, but I still think he's a better player than Bay, because he can hit for average better than Bay. Also, I think Morales is bound for a 40HR year next year, so they won't necessarily need lots of power. Just my opinion, it all depends on if Moreno is willing to spend cash....
I really don't think anyone would want Matthews Jr. either....that situation is a lot like what the Red Sox have with J.D. Drew. |

^ Vlad just flat out pisses me off now.
He gets a plate apperance with the bases loaded and always fails to come through. The old Vlad would hit a grand slam. A single being the worst case scenario.
Teams would actually consider walking him with the bases loaded. If we had the old Vlad, this year and maybe even last year would have been our year to win the whole thing.
If we want something more powerful, package Juan Rivera for an impact player. Maybe Miguel Cabrera is on the trading block? Its a shame we didnt grab him. He's a phenomenal player... |

| Yeah, and Detroit is just bleeding money at this point. I'm sure that with the right package of prospects and salary relief, the Tigers would be willing to part with Cabrera. Especially after they blew that division lead at the end of the season. |
